About the role
Technical Officer
QTAC is a not-for-profit organisation that provides and operates an equitable and centralised tertiary entrance system on behalf of our member and participating institutions to provide comprehensive information for prospective applicants. The institutions that participate in QTAC determine their own admission requirements and QTAC ensures that these admission rules and procedures are administered in a transparent, consistent and equitable manner.
As QTAC continues to evolve and enhance its admissions and assessment processes, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Officer to join our Assessment Services team on a six-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical admissions function during one of QTAC's busiest and most important operational periods.
This is a key operational role responsible for supporting the administration and maintenance of QTAC's assessment, course and offer systems. Working closely with Technical Assessment Specialists, Course and Offer Specialists, institutions and internal stakeholders, you will help ensure the integrity, accuracy and efficiency of QTAC's assessment and admissions processes.
You will play an important role in managing applicant correspondence and documentation, maintaining assessment resources, supporting course information management, monitoring data quality and contributing to process improvements across the section. This role also assists with year 12 results processing, assessment systems administration and the maintenance of operational procedures and training materials.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with information and systems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, has exceptional attention to detail and enjoys contributing to meaningful outcomes that help Queenslanders access tertiary education.
You will benefit from:
An immediate start
A respected and stable organisation
A positive and rewarding team culture
Up-to-date technology and a modern office environment
Work from home flexibility
Recognition for success
Doing work that matters as we pioneer innovative and cutting-edge services to tertiary institutions and year 11 and 12 students
Our unique QTAC culture - with fun team activities and inclusive social events, we celebrate achievements and take immense pride and accountability for the work that we do and the impact we have.
A culture of growth, development and collaboration that supports both your professional success and work/life balance
You will:
Support the administration and maintenance of QTAC's course, offer and assessment systems and associated business rules.
Sort, scan, file and distribute applicant correspondence while maintaining electronic applicant records and documentation.
Identify, investigate and correct applicant data inconsistencies and maintain data integrity across key systems.
Assist with the creation, maintenance, documentation and archiving of assessment resources, procedures and training materials.
Support year 12 results processing activities and assist with the administration of assessment-related systems and processes.
Liaise with institutions and external providers to obtain and verify information required for assessment and admissions processing.
Assist with maintaining course information and monitoring course accreditation details for participating institutions and providers.
Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to a collaborative, innovative and inclusive team environment.
Required Skills and Experience
You must have:
Experience in a similar administration, technical support or document management role.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate information and records.
Experience managing high volumes of documentation, correspondence or personal data.
Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
The ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to team and organisational goals.
Strong computer literacy and confidence working across multiple systems and databases.
A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes and service delivery.
Desirable:
Knowledge of the Australian secondary and tertiary education systems.
Experience working within an education, admissions, compliance or regulated environment.
Experience supporting system administration, records management or business process documentation.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract position based in Milton, Qld.
Please note, you must have full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this role.
