Video Relay Interpreter - WFH Victoria

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Auslan Interpreters to join our National Relay Service (NRS) Video Relay Service team.

Working remotely from home, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Deaf, hard of hearing, and speech communication difficulty communities by enabling accessible and meaningful communication. Key Responsibilities

As an Auslan Interpreter, you will:

• Deliver exceptional and professional interpreting services to NRS customers.
• Facilitate clear and effective communication between callers.
• Respond efficiently and accurately to customer requests.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when handling personal and sensitive information.
• Adhere to the Interpreter Code of Ethics and professional standards.

• Level 2 - Provisional Certified Auslan Interpreter $56.85 (plus casual loading if employed in casual capacity)
• Level 3 - Certified Auslan Interpreter $66.33 (plus casual loading if employed in casual capacity)

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• NAATI accreditation as a Provisional Interpreter or Certified Interpreter.
• Strong experience interpreting within the Deaf community across a variety of settings.
• A thorough understanding of, and commitment to, the Interpreter Code of Ethics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
• Current ASLIA membership (preferred).

Technical Requirements

You will require:

• A reliable wired NBN internet connection.
• Minimum internet speed of 50Mbps download and 20bps upload.
• A suitable work-from-home space (A private space and not a shared space)
• Minimum mobile requirement Android 11 or later, or iOS 15.0 or later for multi-factor approvals.

Availability Requirements

We are currently recruiting for Permanent Part-Time and Full-Time positions.

Permanent Part-Time options include:

• 15 hours per week (3 x 5-hour shifts)
• 20 hours per week (4 x 5-hour shifts)
• 25 hours per week (5 x 5-hour shifts)

As we operate in a 24/7 environment, we require candidates with availability across one or more of the following shift blocks, which may be rostered Monday to Sunday. During the recruitment process, we will discuss your preferred shift blocks and availability to align with the hours of your chosen contract.

• 7:00am - 12:00pm
• 12:00pm - 6:00pm
• 6:00pm - 12:00am
• 11:00pm - 7:00am
