About the role
We are seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our busy workshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing our diverse fleet of heavy trailers (including semi-trailers, curtain-siders, drop-deck, and B-double combinations). Whether you're performing routine safety inspections or tackling major mechanical overhauls, your focus will be on keeping our fleet running safely, reliably, and in compliance with Victorian transport standards.
Key responsibilities
Conduct routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections across various trailer types.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults (including ABS/EBS braking systems).
Perform suspension, axle, hub, brake, and coupling repairs.
Execute general fabrication, minor welding, and bodywork repairs as needed.
Ensure all work meets National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and Victorian road safety standards.
Complete detailed workshop job sheets and maintenance logs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment in accordance with strict OHS protocols.
About you
Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent Australian/international trade qualification).
Proven hands-on experience in heavy trailer maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
Strong understanding of air brake systems, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and trailer electrical diagnostics.
Valid Australian Driver's Licence (HR or HC licence is a distinct advantage).
Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail.
Valid work rights in Australia.
