About the role
We are currently seeking a locally experienced Licensed Customs Broker to join a well-established freight forwarding organisation with a strong national presence.
This is a full-time, office-based opportunity at the company’s Moorebank head office, suited to a Customs Broker with approximately 1–5 years of current Australian industry experience who is looking to join a professional and supportive team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customs clearance requirements for a diverse range of customers and commodities across both Ocean and Air freight.
About the Role
Working as part of a dedicated Customs team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of import customs clearances and ensuring all shipments are processed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with Australian Customs and biosecurity requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lodging Import Declarations for a wide variety of products and customers
Managing customs clearance requirements for both Ocean and Air freight
Reviewing and applying Australian Customs requirements
Managing complex Customs valuations and tariff classifications
Ensuring import entries are accurate and compliant
Liaising with customers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines and other relevant parties
Managing AQIS/DAFF and biosecurity requirements
Monitoring shipments and ensuring clearances are completed within required timeframes
Providing professional advice and support to internal and external customers
Identifying and resolving customs-related issues
Maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Working collaboratively with the wider operations and customer service teams
About You
We are looking for someone who has current experience within the Australian customs and freight forwarding industry.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current Australian Customs Broker Licence
1–5 years’ current Australian Customs Broker experience
Current DAFF/AQIS accreditation
Strong knowledge of Australian Customs requirements and procedures
Experience with Import Declarations
Good understanding of Customs valuations and tariff classifications
Experience handling a variety of commodities and customers
Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to work independently while also being part of a dedicated team
A professional and customer-focused approach
CargoWise1 experience is advantageous
