About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Maintenance & Contractor Coordinator (Hands-On) to coordinate and perform the day-to-day maintenance of our facilities, manufacturing plant and equipment. The role combines hands-on fault finding and repairs with contractor management, preventative maintenance planning, equipment-related projects and procurement.

This position will report to both our Maintenance Manager and our General Manager - Regulatory and Technical and will suit an experienced tradesperson with broad maintenance capability across multiple disciplines. A trade background in electrical, mechanical, fitting, welding, boilermaking or a related field, together with previous supervisory or maintenance coordination experience, will be highly regarded.

Standard hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 7:30 am to 2:00 pm Friday, totalling 38 hours per week. Occasional work outside these hours or on weekends may be required to facilitate contractor repairs while the site is not operating.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate, supervise and carry out maintenance projects, equipment procurement, commissioning, decommissioning, repairs and preventative maintenance in a cost-effective, safe and legally compliant manner.

• Coordinate and supervise external service providers and maintenance contractors, including site access and work requirements.

• Diagnose equipment faults and carry out practical repairs where appropriate and within competency.

• Maintain appropriate stocks of spare parts, tools, equipment and consumables to support reliable operations.

• Conduct maintenance toolbox meetings with Production and Despatch teams to help ensure plant and equipment operate safely and effectively.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance activities.

• Work collaboratively with management and employees to identify and rectify maintenance issues, equipment reliability concerns and workplace hazards.

• Assist with risk assessments, incident follow-up and root cause analysis relating to plant and equipment.

• Undertake other maintenance-related duties as required.

About You

• Practical and hands-on, with a genuine can-do attitude.

• Confident working independently with minimal supervision and taking ownership of priorities.

• Well organised, able to plan work and capable of balancing urgent breakdowns with scheduled maintenance.

• A clear written and verbal communicator who can work effectively with employees, management and contractors.

• Proactive, dependable and effective at identifying and resolving problems.

• Safety-focused and committed to maintaining high standards of housekeeping and compliance.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

• Current C Class Driver's Licence.

• Current High Risk Work Licence for forklift operation, or the ability to obtain one promptly.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and sound knowledge of equipment and mechanical processes, including fault finding and repairs.

• Previous experience in a maintenance, trade or similar hands-on role.

• Previous supervisory, trades coordination or maintenance management experience.

• Sound understanding of current work health and safety requirements, contractor controls and safe systems of work.

Desirable

• Relevant trade qualification in electrical, fitting, welding, boilermaking, mechanical or a related discipline.

• Experience working across multiple trade disciplines.

• Experience in a chemical manufacturing, process manufacturing or comparable industrial environment.

• Experience using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) or other maintenance scheduling software.

• Experience developing preventative maintenance programs, managing shutdown work or conducting root cause analysis.
