Who we are

Rockwall Hospitality, responsible for running The Boat House & Beltana Farm and soon to be one new well known Canberra restaurant and event space, are looking for a passionate and experienced event and sales coordinator to join our busy team. This is a rare opportunity to join a Canberra hospitality institution and become an integral part of a tightknit team who have built their well-earned reputation as one of the best restaurant, bar and event venues in Canberra. 

We are a restaurant located on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, with dynamic spaces that host our restaurant and events.

About the role: 

• This is a full time position 

• You will be responsible for the coordination of Rockwall Hospitality events, ranging from corporate conferences, executive dinners, events marking the big milestones and everything that celebrates great food and wine. You will be the first point of contact, handle confirmation, finalising details and communicating this to our team in an effective manner to ensure they are able to execute the event flawlessly. 

• Your visions and input will be valued when hosting internal ticketed and marketing events. 

• You will be an integral part of our marketing, attending wedding fairs and networking events when needed, and your input will be appreciated to ensure we are getting the most out of these styles of events. We also would value any experience with social media being used for marketing although this wouldn’t be a key part of the position. 

• You will assist with the day to day running of The Boat House and Beltana Farm with light tasks such as assisting with answering the phones, placing restaurant bookings etc. 

What we are after: 

• You're warm. People feel looked after in your company, and that comes naturally rather than as a customer service voice you switch on.

• Someone that has a love and interest in fine dining and amazing wine, with some sort of prior knowledge either through your professional experience or passion for the industry.

• Someone with experience in a busy events venue as we host approx. 700 events a year. 

• You go past what's asked. When something falls through a gap, you pick it up rather than noting whose gap it was.

• Someone who enjoys being a part of a close, fun and supportive team. 

• On the practical side: experience coordinating events in a busy venue, ideally including weddings. Real interest in food and wine, whether from working in it or just caring about it. And comfort with Saturdays, because that's when weddings happen. You'll get weekdays back in return and we roster fairly.

 What you get

• $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience, plus super

• Venues that are genuinely different, but operate on the same systems, so you're not selling the same room 700 times.
