Hostel Housekeeper - 5 days per week

About the role

BUNK Brisbane is seeking a Hostel Housekeeper to join our team on a casual basis, working 5 days per week. This is a hands-on housekeeping position based in our vibrant property located in Fortitude Valley, QLD 4006. As a Hostel Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene and overall presentation of our hostel facilities to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. This role is fundamental to creating a welcoming and hygienic environment that reflects BUNK Brisbane's commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitising guest bedrooms, dormitories, bathrooms and communal areas daily to the highest standards

• Changing bed linens, pillowcases and towels in guest rooms and ensuring they are fresh and well-presented

• Restocking guest amenities including toiletries, towels, toilet paper and other essentials

• Vacuuming, mopping and sweeping all areas including hallways, staircases, lounges and dining areas

• Emptying and replacing rubbish bins throughout the property

• Dusting furniture, fixtures and fittings in all areas

• Maintaining cleaning equipment and reporting any maintenance issues or damage to management

• Following health and safety protocols and using appropriate cleaning chemicals safely

• Responding promptly to guest requests and maintaining a friendly, professional demeanour

• Assisting with deep cleaning and specialised cleaning tasks as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in hostel, hotel or hospitality housekeeping (or equivalent cleaning environment)

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards

• Ability to work efficiently and independently whilst managing multiple tasks

• Physical fitness and capability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the day

• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work a consistent 5-day per week schedule

• Excellent communication skills and a professional, guest-focused attitude

• Knowledge of health and safety procedures and ability to follow cleaning protocols

• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals is advantageous

• Flexibility to adapt to peak and quieter periods within the hostel
