Childcare Cook

The Hub Preschool has a Full-time position available at our Rutherford service for a chef/cook to provide healthy and nutritious meals for our children from 0 to 5 years.

We are seeking a Childcare cook who has a strong work ethic, great communication, team player and a passion for their field of work who strives to provide high quality meals.

Skills and Attributes:

• Previous experience working in Early Childhood is desirable but not essential.

• Flexibility and open mindedness.

• Ability to prepare a range of nutritious meals and snacks for children that reflect the nutritional and cultural, Dietary and allergy requirements of children, within the scope of the National Quality Standards and Centre's Nutrition Policy.

• Ability to keep up with time schedules.

• Planning of seasonal menus for children that follow nutritional guidelines.

• Responsible for ordering, unpacking, rotating and re-stocking stock and products.

• Ability to manage workload and prioritise to ensure efficiency and quality.

• Maintain a clean, organised and inviting kitchen that complies with all food safety regulations.

• Ability to implement the Food Safety Program and work in partnership with external auditors.

• Budgetary skills to plan meals within the scope of a budget.

• Possess a warm and friendly attitude towards families and children.

Qualifications:

Essential

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

• Working with Children Check (or willingness to submit application)

• Experience in the industry

 Desirable

• Certificate in Commercial Cookery or similar
