About the role
Our client is on the lookout for a Portfolio Delivery Manager to oversee the entire Portfolio within their Supply Chain unit. We are looking for people who have experience running large portfolios, who also have experience across hands on delivery.
The Portfolio Delivery Manager, will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution and alignment of the Supply Chain portfolio. Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Portfolio Management, this role provides leadership in portfolio governance, delivery oversight, resource management, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate combines strong portfolio management expertise, ensuring that technology and business initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and executed efficiently. This position will help improve estimation accuracy, foster transparent decision-making, and enable predictable, scalable delivery across GTS initiatives supporting global supply chain transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Portfolio Governance & PrioritizationSupport and enhance GTS governance frameworks to facilitate transparent decision-making and initiative prioritization.Coordinate governance forums and executive steering committees to ensure alignment between technology delivery and business outcomes.Maintain accurate, up-to-date portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and reporting metrics to inform leaders and stakeholders.Provide insights and recommendations on portfolio health, risks, and optimization opportunities.
2. Cross-Program Delivery Roadmaps & Dependency ManagementDevelop and manage integrated delivery roadmaps across multiple programs within the GTS Supply Chain portfolio.Identify, track, and mitigate cross-project dependencies and risks to prevent bottlenecks, delivery delays, or cost escalations.Collaborate with program managers, product owners, and architecture teams to ensure synchronization of delivery timelines.
3. Portfolio Financials & Resource ManagementSupport portfolio budgeting, resource forecasting, and financial tracking, ensuring alignment with strategic investment priorities.Partner with finance, HR, and operations to optimize the allocation of internal and external resources based on project demand.Monitor portfolio spend and identify areas for cost optimization while maintaining delivery quality.
4. Project Cost Estimation & Resource OptimizationLead estimation and forecasting processes for new project proposals, ensuring realistic timelines, resourcing models, and cost projections.Incorporate complexity assessments, automation opportunities, and architectural impacts into portfolio cost modelling.Enhance delivery predictability through standardized estimation frameworks and data-driven portfolio analytics.
5. Delivery Governance ForumsCoordinate delivery governance forums and review cycles (including System Integrator interlocks), ensuring accountability for outcomes.Monitor progress across programs and escalate key risks or issues to leadership for timely resolution.Drive consistent adherence to GTS delivery standards, frameworks, and quality assurance practices.
6. Enterprise Tools, Automation & ReportingOversee the configuration, adoption, and reporting frameworks within tools such as JIRA, Power BI, and other enterprise delivery platforms.Define requirements for tool enhancements and standard reporting views to increase portfolio transparency and efficiency.Partner with data and analytics teams to leverage AI-driven insights for trend prediction, risk identification, and performance optimization.
7. Ways of Working & PMO DevelopmentSupport the implementation of standardized Ways of Working (WoW), templates, and processes across programs to drive consistency and compliance.Contribute to the establishment and scaling of PMOs for large, strategic programs within the Supply Chain domain.Promote best practices in portfolio and project management, fostering continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across teams.
Skills and Qualifications7+ years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management within global technology or supply chain environments.Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar technology portfolios with complex stakeholder ecosystems.Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and cost optimization.Proficiency with JIRA, Power BI, and other portfolio management tools.Experience implementing governance models and continuous improvement frameworks in large-scale technology organizations.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills.Experience in leveraging AI or data-driven insights for project delivery improvement is highly desirable.
