About the role
Location: Bendigo, with opportunities to work in Echuca
Enjoy reliable, regular office hours with no shift work.
Central Victorian Cardiology is seeking a capable and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our specialist cardiology team.
This is a varied clinical role combining cardiac diagnostic services with general nursing support in a busy outpatient environment. You will work alongside cardiologists, cardiac sonographers, technicians, nurses and administration staff to provide safe, professional and compassionate care.
Fitting, removing and downloading Holter monitors.
Performing 12-lead ECGs.
Analysing Holter monitor recordings and identifying findings requiring escalation.
Assessing and supporting patients who become unwell while attending the clinic.
Recognising clinical deterioration and initiating an appropriate response.
Escalating clinical concerns to the treating cardiologist or emergency services when required.
Performing general nursing duties within the cardiology department.
Taking and documenting patient observations and relevant clinical information.
Maintaining accurate patient records and complying with clinical protocols.
Assisting with emergency preparedness, infection control and clinical stock management.
Providing patients with clear instructions and reassurance throughout their care.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
Confidence caring for patients who may be acutely unwell.
The ability to recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration.
A calm, professional and patient-focused approach.
Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
Experience with ECGs, cardiac monitoring or Holter analysis would be highly regarded. Training in practice-specific systems and processes can be provided to the right candidate.
Critical care, coronary care, emergency or acute-care nursing experience.
Postgraduate qualifications in critical care, cardiac nursing, emergency nursing or a related field.
Current IV cannulation competency and experience.
Advanced Life Support certification. Happy to provide training for the right candidate.
Strong ECG and arrhythmia recognition skills.
Previous experience in a cardiology, hospital or specialist outpatient setting.
The position will be primarily based at our Bendigo practice, with opportunities to work at our Echuca clinic where required.
Unlike many hospital-based nursing positions, this role offers reliable and predictable daytime office hours, with no rotating shifts or overnight work. It is an excellent opportunity for a nurse seeking greater routine and work–life balance while continuing to use their clinical skills in a specialist environment.
This role would particularly suit an experienced acute-care, coronary-care, emergency or critical-care nurse looking to transition into specialist outpatient cardiology.
To apply, please submit your résumé and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the position.
