About the business

Turramurra kindergarten is a family owned and operated long day care service. Located in a convenient bush setting in the heart of North Turramurra. Our service is open 7:00am-6:00pm Monday - Friday. Closed on public holidays and closed over the Christmas and New Years Eve period.

We are seeking a motivated and hand on kitchen personnel who are looking for a kitchen hand role 3 days per week Monday - Wednesday. Hours each day are perfect for a working mums and is from 9am-1pm.

About the role

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the general ongoing food preparation/reheating, serving food, heating bottles, washing dishes & general cleaning duties. The position involves following food safety guidelines and procedures at Turramurra kindergarten. Reporting directly to the centre management at Turramurra kindergarten. The successful applicant will be an energetic, dedicated strong team player, with the ability to follow food safety procedures and guidelines.

Skills and experience

• Experience in food preparation and food safety and handling

• A certificate 3 or previous experience in childcare would be an advantage

• Experience in working in a busy kitchen position

• Experience in general kitchen cleaning duties

• Experience in general cleaning and routine cleaning duties

• Experience in catering for children with dietary requirements and allergies

• Possession of a current drivers licence

• Time management skills 

• Ability to complete food audits and checklists in line with regulatory compliance

• Current working with children's check

• Must have a current first aid certificate

• References from previous employers

• Excellent communication skills

• Drivers licence and reliable vehicle

• Current first aid certificate & CPR

• Understanding safe food handling requirements demonstrated through previous kitchen hand experience
