The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly capable Procurement Specialist to join our growing Supply Chain team, based at our Mascot office. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role plays a critical part in our largest and most critical spend categories in solar module, DC reticulation systems and CAPEX spend making it a pivotal role for margin performance and commercial competitiveness in the business. The role must develop strategic partnership and sourcing initiatives, supplier management, and procurement operations across a dynamic, fast-scaling global business.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Sourcing

• Develop and own the category strategy for solar modules, DC electrical components and CAPEX spend aligned to 5B's project pipeline and commercial objectives.
• Lead competitive sourcing processes including RFIs, RFQs, and tenders for finished goods suppliers across both categories.
• Analyse total cost of ownership, supply market dynamics, and price benchmarks to inform sourcing decisions and negotiations.
• Maintain a robust understanding of the global solar module market — including tier-1 manufacturer dynamics, panel specifications, efficiency trends, and geopolitical supply risks.

Supplier Management

• Build and manage strategic relationships with key finished goods suppliers across solar modules and electrical components.
• Lead supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance management processes including KPI scorecards and regular business reviews.
• Identify and develop alternative supply sources to reduce concentration risk and maintain supply continuity.
• Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement in quality, lead times, and cost.

Commercial & Contract Management

• Lead commercial negotiations and manage contract execution for long-term supply agreements and project-specific purchase orders. Coverage of both S2C and P2P processes.
• Work closely with legal and finance to structure contracts that protect 5B's interests and align with project timelines.
• Monitor contract compliance, manage variations, and resolve commercial disputes.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with engineering to align product specifications and qualification requirements for modules and electrical components.
• Work with project delivery and planning teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and procurement scheduling.
• Support project bid and proposal teams with cost intelligence and supply availability insights.
• Report category spend, savings, and supplier risk to senior leadership.

About You

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• Professional certification (e.g. CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, CSCM) highly regarded

Experience

• Minimum 5-10 years in procurement with a track record in direct/ finished goods categories.
• Preferred experience with solar module, electrical components and DC reticulation procurement.
• Experience working in a project-based or EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) environment is highly regarded.
• Proven ability to manage high-value, complex supplier negotiations with global or multinational manufacturers
• Exposure working with international supply chains and South East Asian suppliers.
• Exposure to technical or engineering-based materials, drawings, and documentation preferred
• Experience with commodities markets would be beneficial.
