Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising an Engineer - Mechanical vacancy that exists in the Engineering Department. This role will see you become an integral part of Smelter Projects team. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 5/2 4/3 roster.

The successful candidate you will have:

Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering with 2-5 years mining and/or construction industry experienceProject Management experience will be high regardedWorking within a team environment, however demonstrate the ability to work autonomouslyA strong safety culture and work ethic are fundamental to your success in the roleStrong interpersonal and communication skills

Working across two plants this role would include:

Capital Projects delivery including scoping, design, project management and installationBudget and schedule controlPerforming engineering calculations, design reviews, and conducting risk assessmentsManaging external suppliers, and ensuring compliance with site and statutory standardsBuilding relationships with end users to provide practical and pragmatic engineering solutionsCompletion and reporting on planned and ad-hoc safety inspections and audits
