Graphic Pre-Press Assistant – Trade Qualified

About the role

The Van Dyke Press is an established market leader in labels and food packaging printing based in Brookvale on the Northern Beaches. We are looking for an experienced part-time pre-press operator to assist our current full-time pre-press team. This is a permanent part-time role with approximately 20 hours per week over 3-4 days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and check files for print production using industry standard software

• Set up and adjust printing plates, ensure correct layout, format and colour specifications

• Perform proofing, quality checks and corrections before final plate production

• Ensure all materials meet printing specifications and customer requirements

• Operate pre-press equipment and maintain it in a clean and safe condition

• Apply knowledge of printing processes, colour management and layout standards

About you

• Minimum one year of full-time experience in a similar pre-press or printing environment

• Strong knowledge of pre-press procedures, colour theory and print specifications

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when preparing files

• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a production workflow

• Willingness to take on any pre-press tasks as required

• Pre-press experience is essential

• Experience in food packaging or labels printing is preferred but not essential
