Casual Bookkeeper — Brisbane/Gold Coast candidates ONLY

Growing Brisbane-based bookkeeping practice seeks an experienced bookkeeper to join our team on a casual basis. You'll work across a diverse portfolio of client files, so adaptability and strong attention to detail are essential.

About the role

Working under the direction of a CPA and registered BAS agent, you'll take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple client files. Hours are flexible and negotiable to suit the right candidate. The role is Brisbane-based, fully remote, but we are only hiring Brisbane/Gold coast candidates.

Full training provided but Xero and MYOB proficiency is critical to succeed in this role. Only apply if you are confident using Xero and Myob.

What you'll be doing

• Bank reconciliations across multiple entities

• Processing accounts payable and receivable

• Payroll processing draft for review

• Creating and posting general journals (basic)

• Maintaining accurate records across client files in Xero, MYOB AccountRight

• Building and maintaining Excel workbooks for reporting, reconciliation, and analysis

• Knowledge of GST Bookkeeping practices

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel

• Strong time management skills

• Honest work ethic

• At least 1-3 years' experience in Xero and MYOB

• Fully remote with work laptop and accessories provided

The ideal candidate will be able to commit to casual work hours of 10 hours per week, with primary availability being preferred for Monday and Tuesday mornings. The role at times may also scale to require up to 20 hours per week during busy periods.

We are looking for a long-term member of our team, based within 100km's of South Brisbane as initial training may require 1 or 2 visits to our main office. All work after that can be done remotely. The role will come with a 3-month probationary period.
