Inspector QC

Civmec is currently seeking an experienced QA/QC Inspector on the BHP Bucket Wheel Reclaimer Upgrade project, delivering critical work across a leading mining operation. This casual position is offered on a 2:1 FIFO roster, comprising both day and night shifts, for an anticipated duration of approximately two months, commencing in September with the possibility to extend onto various other projects within Civmec.

• Conduct SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Assist in developing procedures, management plans, ITPs, and methodologies in line with project requirements and standards.
• Complete progressive inspections, weld mapping, inspection/test reports, checklists, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate NDE activities, including raising requests and reviewing/endorsing NDE reports.
• Monitor material traceability and verify flange management, alignment, and dimensional checks.
• Compile and maintain the project MDR, ensuring full traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide quality-related technical support and guidance to the project team.
• Liaise with client representatives and conduct routine inspections and surveillance activities.
• Review drawings, specifications, and documentation for accuracy and constructability.
• Identify non-conformances and defects, supporting investigation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives with project stakeholders.

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

• CSWIP 3.1 (or equivalent welding inspection certification).
• 5+ years' industry experience, including 3+ years in QA/QC on construction projects.
• Experience in mining, resources, oil & gas, and mining process plant construction.
• Strong knowledge of QMS, ITPs, NCRs, audits, traceability, MDRs, and project handover documentation.
• Sound understanding of ISO, AS/NZS, and ASME standards.
• Experience with document control and Construction/Completion Management Systems (CMS).
• Strong attention to detail, technical reporting, and quality documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• BHP project experience highly regarded.
