Porters Plainland Hotel is a familiar landmark on the Warrego Highway just an hour's drive from Brisbane, in Queensland's beautiful Lockyer Valley.

Offering award winning dining and bar facilities, a 17-room motel, function rooms, 37 pokies, Keno, TAB and two Bottlemart retail stores, this family run Hotel is a thriving business employing over 140 staff. 

The Hotel is seeking an experienced Duty Manager to assist with the daily operation of the business and ensure consistent operations between the various areas of the venue to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

About the role

• Flexible availability is required – including day, night, weekend & public holidays

• Leadership with strong hospitality and people management ability

• Knowledge of venue compliance, regulations and venue operations

• Training, motivating and continual staff development

• Managing the venue’s appearance and atmosphere
   

Skills and experience

• Proven success in a Hospitality Management role and the desire to work cohesively within, as well as lead, a team

• The ability to professionally supervise, train and direct staff to provide a great customer experience within our venue

• A genuine focus and strong background in bar, restaurant and gaming

• A good knowledge of gaming, TAB and Keno operations

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• A great eye for detail and venue presentation

• Proficient front of house and back of house operational skills

• Confident with technology

• RMLV and Approved Manager's Licence

• A genuine passion for the industry, its patrons and the people that work within it

• Working a fast-paced, bustling venue with a strong focus on delivering high standards and exceptional product
