Casual depot workers (5 day week role)

Road Runners is a wholly Tasmanian owned company with a long history in Express Freight Distribution throughout Tasmania. 

The East Devonport depot is currently looking for reliable depot workers. Primarily, the role consists of container unloading and hand sorting various profiles of mostly carton freight. Having a forklift licence is an advantage. (Grade 3 with forklift licence, grade 1 without forklift licence). As this role is primarily manual handling of freight, you do need a good level of fitness and core strength.

Even though these are casual roles, they are Monday to Friday roles, and we are looking for personnel who will consistently work the five days Mon to Fri, especially as we come in to the busy season, September to January.

The role includes but not limited to:

-        Hand sorting various freight into the correct areas

-        Use of scanners to the required standard

-        Safe building and wrapping of mixed pallets

-        Assisting with customer collections when required

-        Assisting with bulk/2 person deliveries when required

-        General warehouse & housekeeping duties

-        Washing of linehaul trailers

Requirements:

-        Physically fit

-        Forklift licence an advantage, but not essential

-        Basic literacy skills

-        Work well in a team environment

-        Compliant with WHS & company policies

-        Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical

-        Produce a current police check
