About the Role
The JBS Beef City Feedlot is currently seeking passionate Pen Riders and Livestock Handlers to join our dedicated animal health team. The key responsibilities of the role include daily livestock handling tasks such as pen riding and stock movements, diagnosing animal health symptoms and administering appropriate treatments. This role also involves maintaining accurate records of animal treatments and stock movements, while ensuring strict compliance with JBS Australia’s policies, including Work Health and Safety (WHS), Human Resources (HR), Quality Assurance (QA), Animal Welfare and Environmental obligations.
Full-time position
Entry level rate starting at $29.50 per hour
Pen Riders receive an additional $1 per hour if all requirements are met
A horse care allowance package with feed and agistment are also provided, as well as stables and paddock facilities, ongoing farrier services, horse feed and vaccinations.
About You
Proven horsemanship skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Strong commitment to animal welfare, health and nutrition
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment
To be eligible for the horse allowance, you are required to have access to a minimum of two suitable horses and own tack/saddlery, including horse transport. All horses must be vaccinated for Hendra virus prior to entry at all JBS sites. Proof of vaccination details will be required prior to offer/commencement of employment.
