About us

EasyAsset builds software that makes buying big, expensive things - trucks, machinery, clinic fit-outs, heavy gear - a lot less painful than it usually is. We run marketplaces, asset finance, and quoting platforms, and we’re now putting serious engineering effort into using large language models and automation to speed all of it up, for our customers and for ourselves.

We’re profitable and funded by our own revenue, not a runway. The engineering team is small which means the person in this role takes full ownership of their projects and builds things that go live and get used.

About the role

We’re hiring an AI focused developer to design, build, test and document features end-to-end across our marketplace and finance platforms, plus the LLM and automation layers we’re adding on top. Part of the job is genuinely new work; part of it is understanding the established .NET systems that already run the business and modernising them without breaking anything customers depend on.

You’ll use AI tooling like GPT and Claude as leverage, not as a substitute for knowing what you’re building or why. We’ll pay for whatever tools make you faster. You might not know everything (yet), but you figure it out.

What you’ll actually do

• The successful applicant will work closely with business stakeholders and the development team.
• Work out what needs building: sitting with the business, analysing system and program requirements, and turning them into technical specifications rather than waiting to be handed one.
• Write and maintain production code against those specifications and against our internal quality standards.
• Design secure software that is ready to scale with the business’ growth plans.
• Build full-stack features that use LLMs, prompting, retrieval and workflow automation, and make them reliable enough to leave running.
• Ship UI in React, Next.js and Tailwind, and back it with services and APIs in Node, Python and .NET over SQL.
• Test, debug and fix things properly - diagnosing faults, correcting them within our testing protocols, and verifying that what you shipped (including its security controls) does what the spec says.
• Find the limits and weak points in our existing and legacy systems and the processes around them, then make the case for fixing them and do it.
• Build the internal tooling the rest of the team needs, and look after how it’s managed and secured.
• Own deployments: automating build, test and release, and pushing our continuous delivery practice forward.
• Instrument what we ship, collect the operational metrics, and use them to argue for the next change.
• Document what you build - technical notes, end-user docs, and the operational procedures someone else will need at 2am.
• Weigh in on tooling and platform decisions, including what things cost, when we’re deciding what to buy, build or upgrade.
• Think about risk across the life of what you build: performance, data protection, encryption, and the security problems that only show up later.

What we need from you

Essential

• A Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 1-year relevant experience.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript, plus at least one of Python or C#/.NET.
• Experience with React and Next.js.
• Experience building back-end services and REST APIs (Node, Python/FastAPI or .NET) against SQL databases.
• Experience wiring third-party APIs and LLM APIs into real applications.
• Solid habits around testing, version control, code review and CI/CD.
• Able to write documentation that someone else can follow.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• LLM orchestration tooling - LangChain or similar.
• Vercel, Supabase, Azure or AWS.
• Keeping legacy .NET systems alive and improving them.
• Secure development practice and application security controls.
• Any exposure to marketplaces, asset finance or lending.
