About the role
We're looking for a Deputy Production Manager to join our well-established team and help oversee our offsite manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring production runs safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality, while also taking the lead on Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) initiatives across the site.
Key responsibilities
Work with the Production Manager to analyse and allocate production priorities, resolving issues as they arise
Manage and coordinate production labour
Assist with the management of incoming materials
Oversee quality assurance, including completion of required paperwork
Resolve technical issues, liaising with the Design and Engineering teams and the Production Manager
Set up and program CNC machines as required
Train and mentor other team members
Contribute to hands-on fabrication work when workload requires
Implement site inductions; write new inductions and refine existing ones
Assist with the testing of equipment and machinery
About you
5+ years' experience in the manufacture of aluminium façades, or windows and doors
Knowledge of CNCs
Some experience in OH&S (further training can be provided)
Management experience is preferred but not essential — this could be a step-up opportunity for the right person
Strong communication skills, with the confidence to train, mentor, and lead safety walks
Relevant licences/tickets highly regarded (e.g. forklift, working at heights, white card)
Comfortable on the production floor, including hands-on fabrication work when required
