About the role
Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is the owner, developer and manager of the Osborne Naval Shipyards, supporting the Commonwealth’s Naval Shipbuilding Plan. ANI is responsible designing, constructing and managing the shipyard infrastructure, including the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard to support the AUKUS program, and operating and maintaining common use facilities.
ANI has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join the Equipment Team based in the Adelaide Office. In this role you will act as a subject matter expert for the procurement of specialised shipbuilding equipment for the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY).
Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead and deliver the end-to-end acquisition of capital Specialised Equipment for ANI.
Manage the market engagement and supplier identification process for Specialised Equipment.
Undertake the sourcing, negotiating, contracting and contract management of Specialised Equipment procurement activities.
Manage whole of life considerations of the Specialised Equipment category, including ongoing maintenance.
Maintain market knowledge of industry participants, technology advancements and matters impacting procurement and contracting activities, such as Security, Export Control, Incoterms and other market and legislative changes.
Represent the organisation in a professional manner, provide reliable and timely advice and act with integrity to ensure project progression.
Develop strong relationships and work collaboratively across client, internal and external networks to achieve successful outcomes.
Ensure compliance with internal stakeholders, shareholders and legislative requirements.
Implement an effective supplier relationship management process and ongoing supplier quality assurance monitoring.
Manage and monitor the risk and financial profile of the Specialised Equipment category.
Contribute to corporate reporting and other organisation wide endeavors.
About You:
You will have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, sound organisational, written and verbal communication skills. Prior experience in major specialised equipment procurement in a defence, government or manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
You will also have:
5+ years’ experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Commerce or a related discipline
Proven track record in procurement roles, preferably in defence, construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
Experienced in managing data registers, including working with SharePoint-based systems or similar platforms, and you are comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite to support reporting, analysis, and procurement documentation.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
You are proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement, with an interest in contributing to procurement practices that support the organisational objectives.
