We are entering an exciting period of growth and are looking for a motivated claims professional to join our Sydney team. This is an opportunity to build specialist expertise in one of the insurance industry’s most dynamic areas while contributing to a growing and collaborative underwriting agency. 

About the role 

Reporting to the Head of Claims and Incident Response, you will help deliver a responsive, high-quality claims service to brokers and insureds. You will manage a varied portfolio of claims and support customers through complex and, at times, time-sensitive situations. 

You do not need to be an experienced cyber claims professional. We are open to candidates who bring either a foundation in insurance or claims, or relevant knowledge of and interest in cyber risk, technology incidents or incident response. 

You will receive ongoing mentoring, training and support to develop your technical claims capability and specialist cyber insurance knowledge. 

Key responsibilities 

In this role, you will: 

• Manage claims from notification through to resolution, maintaining accurate records and progressing matters proactively; 

• Assess policy coverage and contribute to coverage decisions with support from the Head of Claims and Incident Response; 

• Provide brokers and insureds with clear, timely and practical communication, including during complex and time-sensitive incidents; 

• Coordinate external specialists, including lawyers, forensic IT providers, incident-response partners and loss adjusters; 

• Identify claim trends and share insights that support claims management, underwriting decisions and risk selection; and 

• Contribute to process improvements, broker education and other market-facing activities. 

About you 

More important than having experience in every aspect of the role is your approach to customers, your willingness to learn and the care you bring to your work. 

To be successful, you will bring: 

• Experience or foundational knowledge in insurance, claims, broking or underwriting; or knowledge of and interest in cyber risk, technology incidents or incident response; 

• A strong customer service ethic and the ability to support customers through complex situations; 

• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities; 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly; 

• Sound judgement, curiosity and a willingness to develop your technical knowledge; and 

• A proactive, collaborative approach and the confidence to work with brokers, insureds, underwriters and external specialists.
