Join Murrays Coaches as a Leading Hand Heavy Vehicle Mechanic in our Fleet Team and support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our modern heavy vehicle fleet. This role offers genuine variety, hands-on mechanical work, and the opportunity to guide and support an experienced workshop team.

What you will do

• Lead, support and mentor mechanics and apprentices

• Allocate daily workshop tasks and assist with workflow priorities

• Diagnose, service and repair heavy vehicles, including coaches and buses

• Coordinate preventative maintenance and assist with breakdown responses

• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to Murrays standards

• Participate in an on-call roster as part of the workshop support structure

What you will bring

• Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent

• Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a qualified diesel or heavy vehicle mechanic

• Strong diagnostic, servicing and repair skills

• Previous experience leading, mentoring or supporting a workshop team

• A safety-first approach and strong attention to detail

• Current MR driver’s licence, or the ability to obtain one

• Valid Australian Heavy Rigid (HR) driver licence preferred.

This role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, supporting a team, solving problems and helping keep a busy fleet operating safely and reliably.
