Medical Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join the team at Lagoon Medical Centre Yanchep on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment in Yanchep, WA 6035. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients through our GP clinic & urgent care clinic, playing a vital role in ensuring smooth operations and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

This position is fundamental to the functioning of our medical practice, helping to create a welcoming and organised environment where patients feel valued and cared for.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting patients warmly and professionally upon arrival at the clinic

• Managing patient check-in & check-out procedures for urgent care & GP clinics

• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments

• Answering incoming calls and managing patient enquiries

• Processing patient payments accurately

• Maintaining patient confidentiality and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations

• Maintaining an organised reception area and keeping patient records up to date

• Assisting with administrative tasks

• Supporting the medical team

• Handling patient enquiries

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role preferable

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Previous experience with Best Practice Software preferable, but not essential

• Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of healthcare practices

• A patient-focused approach with genuine empathy and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and understand privacy and data protection requirements

• Reliability and flexibility, with the ability to work in a casual capacity as required

• Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills

• Preferably, certification or training in medical administration or reception
