Parkerville Tavern is one of the Hills' most iconic venues and is currently undergoing an exciting renovation while remaining open and trading. The refurbishment is set to be completed in mid-September, making this the perfect time to join the team, settle into the kitchen and be part of the venue's exciting new chapter.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves leading from the front and is eager to help shape the future of a busy and community-focused venue.

About the Role

As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef and Venue Manager to deliver exceptional food, lead and develop the kitchen team and ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading, mentoring and inspiring the kitchen team
• Assisting with the day-to-day management of kitchen operations
• Maintaining and exceeding food quality and presentation standards
• Training and developing chefs to support their growth and progression
• Managing stock control, ordering and checking deliveries.
• Writing and managing effective rosters
• Ensuring policies, procedures and standards are communicated and followed
• Supporting the Head Chef and Venue Manager to drive revenue and venue performance
• Delivering high-quality meals in a busy, high-volume environment

About You

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified chef, ideally in a senior position
• A genuine passion for hospitality and building a long-term career in the industry
• A positive, energetic and team-focused attitude
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate others
• Creative flair and pride in food presentation
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
• Strong organisational and computer skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• A hands-on approach and willingness to lead from the front
