Diesel Mechanic/Workshop Supervisor

About the role

This is a hands-on position for an experienced diesel mechanic who can carry out repairs and servicing while also coordinating the day-to-day operation of the workshop. You will help keep our fleet safe, reliable and ready for work.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and repair diesel engines, heavy plant, trucks and associated equipment.

• Plan and prioritise workshop jobs, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.

• Supervise workshop activities and support other employees or contractors as required.

• Maintain practical service records, parts requirements and maintenance schedules.

• Coordinate parts, consumables and external repair providers.

• Complete field servicing or breakdown support when required.

• Promote safe work practices, good housekeeping and care of company equipment.

About you

• Relevant trade qualification as a diesel mechanic, heavy vehicle mechanic or equivalent.

• Demonstrated experience with earthmoving, quarry, agricultural or heavy transport equipment.

• Strong fault-finding skills and a practical, self-directed approach.

• Ability to organise work, communicate clearly and lead by example.

• Current driver licence; heavy vehicle licence and other relevant licences are advantageous.

• A strong commitment to safety, reliability and quality workmanship.
