Senior Welder/Metal Fabricator

About the Role

You will work across the fabrication of components and assemblies used in Grainline's agricultural machinery, including larger and more complex fabrication work.

We are particularly interested in someone who can bring experience to the workshop, identify issues before they become problems and take ownership of a job from drawing through to completed fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and fabricate components independently

• Complete MIG welding and fabrication to a consistently high standard

• Set up and manufacture complex components and assmeblies

• Identify drawing, fit-up or manufacturing issues and work with the appropriate team to resolve them

• Maintain strong dimensional accuracy, weld quality and finished-product standards

• Contribute practical fabrication knowledge to manufacturing improvements

• Assist and guide less experienced tradespeople where required

• Take ownership of safe and efficient completion of allocated work

What We're Looking For

You will be a qualified and experiences Boilmaker, Welder or Metal Fabricator with:

• Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent

• Strong fabrication and MIG welding experience

• Excellent ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Experience working independently on complex fabrication

• Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances, fit-up and weld quality

• Practical problem-solving ability

• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail

• A willingness to share knowledge and contribute to the development of the wider team

Experience in agriculture machinery, heavy fabrication or equipment manufacturing would be highly regarded.
