Engineering Maintenance Supervisor - North

About the role:

We're seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Maintenance Supervisor to lead the delivery of critical infrastructure programs across the City, including piped drainage, open drainage (north area), street sweeping, and weed spraying.

In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of maintenance program delivery from planning through to completion - supervising staff and contractors to ensure works are completed on time, to the required standard, and within budget. You'll be a trusted point of contact across the organisation, balancing operational leadership with a genuine commitment to safety, compliance, and service excellence.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise and monitor Council staff and contractors delivering engineering construction and maintenance programs
• Support efficient, cost-effective work practices, drive productivity targets, and provide constructive feedback to workplace teams
• Build and maintain effective relationships with Council staff, public authorities, customers, and contractors on construction and maintenance matters
• Support the preparation and delivery of annual maintenance programs, ensuring quality and timely completion of all works
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of staff timecards
• Carry out basic engineering survey work as required
• Assist in preparing maintenance work estimates
• Prepare and administer tenders and contracts in line with Council requirements
• Provide broader support to the Coordinator as needed
• Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of customer service initiatives
• Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring WHS legislation and practices are upheld
• Ensure compliance with the City's procurement policy across all activities

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Certificate IV in Civil Construction, Road Works and Municipal Engineering and/or relevant and equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in road, footpath, crossover and drainage construction and maintenance works
• Experience in asphalt and concrete construction and maintenance
• Leadership and management skills and experience
• A satisfactory National Police Certificate
• Current C Class Drivers Licence
• White Card

The salary for this position will be from $87,442.94 - $103,792.55 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
