About the role
Reporting to the Manager Waste Services, you will play a key role in supporting the effective administration, compliance and performance of waste services contracts across the City.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and the community to ensure contracts are well managed, obligations are met and services continue to deliver great outcomes for residents.
From managing contract processes and investigating issues through to supporting procurement, compliance and business improvement, this role offers the opportunity to make your mark across a broad range of activities.
What you’ll be doing
• Process purchase orders, goods receipts and supplier invoices in accordance with financial and procurement procedures.
• Monitor contract expenditure and support the timely payment of contractor invoices.
• Assist with budget tracking, invoice reconciliation and financial reporting associated with waste services contracts.
• Support the administration and performance monitoring of waste services contracts.
• Coordinate quotation, contract variation, extension and compliance processes.
• Investigate contractual matters and provide practical recommendations for resolution.
• Provide advice and support to internal stakeholders on contract management activities.
• Maintain accurate contract registers, databases, records and business systems.
• Build positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to resolve enquiries and issues.
• Assist with contract audits and compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and service delivery.
• Support the development and implementation of contract management processes, procedures and training.
About you
You’re a highly organised, customer-focused professional who enjoys solving problems, working with people and keeping things moving.
You take pride in getting the details right, while also being able to see the bigger picture. You’re adaptable, confident working with a range of stakeholders and comfortable taking on new challenges.
To be successful, you will have:
• A qualification, or be working towards a qualification, in a relevant discipline such as Procurement and Contracts Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Knowledge of procurement and contract management principles and practices.
• Experience using contract management systems — Open Windows experience will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to use information systems and technology effectively for contract administration, reporting and record management.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Well-developed research, analysis, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety principles.
