Rear Compactor Driver

Job Overview: We are looking for a dedicated Rear Compactor Driver to join our team for bulk verge collection services in the Malaga and Armadale areas. This role is ideal for someone who prefers to stay active throughout the day, as it requires frequent in-and-out truck activities. It is well-suited for individuals who enjoy being on the move rather than sitting in a truck all day. We have a diverse team, including older employees, who have thrived in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a rear compactor truck to perform bulk verge collections
• Frequently get in and out of the truck to assist with collections
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of the rear compactor truck
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on the vehicle
• Load and unload materials as required
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and services performed
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Requirements:

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Experience operating a rear compactor truck preferred
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including frequent truck exits and entries
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations
• Excellent driving record with no recent traffic violations
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to operate heavy machinery for extended periods
• Comfortable with physical labor, including getting in and out of the truck frequently
• Capable of working in various weather conditions

Casual rate: $36.50 per hour flat. Full-time rate is performance-based: $31-34 per hour plus time and a half.
