About the role
First Steps Academy – Greystanes, NSW
Full-Time Position
First Steps Academy is seeking a strong, passionate and driven Early Childhood Educator to join our team.
We are looking for someone who goes beyond simply completing the daily routine. We want an educator who takes initiative, brings ideas, drives quality practice and takes genuine ownership of their role.
You will be joining a growing service where we value educators who are motivated, reliable, confident and genuinely passionate about providing high-quality education and care.
As part of our team, you will:
Build warm, respectful and meaningful relationships with children and families.
Actively contribute to educational programs based on children's interests, development and learning.
Complete meaningful observations, documentation and critical reflections.
Use the EYLF and National Quality Standard to guide everyday practice.
Bring new ideas and experiences to the program.
Take initiative and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.
Work collaboratively with educators and service leadership.
Maintain a strong focus on children's safety, wellbeing and individual needs.
Be willing to step up, take responsibility and lead by example.
Contribute positively to the culture and day-to-day operation of the service.
We want someone who is:
Strong, passionate, motivated and driven.
Confident and willing to take initiative.
Genuinely passionate about early childhood education.
Proactive and able to see what needs to be done without always needing direction.
Creative and enthusiastic about bringing new ideas to the service.
Reliable, punctual and committed to their position.
A strong communicator and team player.
Organised and able to take ownership of their responsibilities.
Open to feedback and ongoing professional development.
Committed to child safety and maintaining high professional standards.
Interested in growing with the service and making a genuine contribution to our team.
Applicants must:
Hold a minimum of Certificate III and/or be actively working towards, an approved Diploma or Bachelor qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Hold a current NSW Working with Children Check.
Hold current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, or be willing to obtain them.
Hold current Child Protection training.
Have an understanding of the EYLF and National Quality Standard.
Have reliable transport and be able to consistently attend rostered shifts on time.
Have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
Be available to work the required rostered hours.
Please note: Employer sponsorship is not available for this position.
We are looking for someone who wants to be an important part of our service, not simply fill a position. We value educators who have a voice, contribute ideas, support their colleagues and want to continuously strengthen their practice.
If you are a passionate and driven educator who takes initiative, leads by example and wants to make a genuine difference within an early childhood service, we would love to hear from you.
