This is an exciting opportunity for a capable and motivated store assistant to join a well-established and progressive engineering company situated in Sumner. The company manufactures, supply and fits vehicle safety equipment for Mining, Construction and Transport industry. We are focused on delivering high-quality products and services to our clients through our friendly and professionally driven team.

About the Role

Due to the expansion of operations, we are currently seeking a warehouse store assistant with strong work ethics to join our manufacturing facility based in Sumner.

Commencing asap, working as part of a friendly team you will be involved in all general day to day warehouse operations including (but not limited to):

• Checking stock received against delivery docket/invoice for the accuracy and quality.

• Purchasing new products from suppliers.

• Reconciling supplier invoices against purchase orders.

• Receiving stock into the inventory system and storing parts at correct locations.

• Picking parts and delivering to production bays in the factory.

• Picking, packing and dispatching parts as per sales orders.

• Issuing parts and materials to production staff as needed and recording against jobs.

• Assist with regular stock take.

• General cleaning of warehouse and housekeeping

• Ordering parts and following up suppliers on lead times

Our ideal candidate:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated previous experience in a similar role, and will have the following attributes:

• Previous experience in warehouse operations will be an advantage

• Good level of computer skills with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.

• Appropriate physical fitness to undertake the position's duties.

• Self-motivated and able to meet deadlines through strong time management

• Be able to work well with others, honest, reliable and trustworthy.

• Demonstrated stable work history.

• Attention to detail with accuracy and quality of work.

• Excellent communication - both verbal & written

• Willing to learn and follow instructions.

• Have current Forklift Licence or willing to obtain asap

• Have a current manual Driver’s Licence will be an advantage

• Have a strong commitment to workplace safety and health

• Demonstrates a "Can Do" attitude
