If you have chosen screen printing as your career path and you've put years into getting good at it, this job is for you. You know your way around registration, running print production efficiently and getting your print assistant team working optimally. 

Machine is a Melbourne-based garment decoration business, established 26 years ago. We have a solid reputation for doing high-volume, high-quality work across screen printing, embroidery and digital. Our screen print team, run by Print Manager Simon Nguyen, has room for an additional senior printer to help steer our print department through the upcoming busy season and beyond. 

Why now?

We're at the point where we need another senior printer on the floor - not just to print, but to help set the standard, help mentor the next generation of printers coming through and have a genuine say in how the print room runs. We work with multi-national companies who have chosen us because they need consistent quality that we have to prove year on year. This isn't a "fill a gap" position but a strategic role to support our production success as a whole.

What you'll be doing

• Running and troubleshooting automatic press setups across varied, high-spec jobs. Your knowledge of how to manage fabric, inks and garments from job to job needs to be second nature.

• Owning colour matching and registration to a high standard.

• Setting workflow and quality benchmarks for the print department.

• Mentoring less experienced print assistants and raising the skill level of the team.

• Working closely with our production and account management team to keep jobs moving without compromising on quality.

What you bring

• Solid, hands-on senior-level screen printing experience. You can walk onto our floor and we'll know within an hour.

• An understanding of what it means to run a fast paced production schedule and be on your feet all day.

• The ability to work in a team as a positive, supportive person; able to listen and engage willingly.
