Section Waiter

About the role

The Section Waiter is responsible for delivering exceptional table service across an assigned section, representing the Pony Dining brand through precision, product knowledge, and genuine hospitality. Set in the historic heart of The Rocks, Pony Dining is a Sydney dining institution shaped by fire, atmosphere, and genuine connection. For over 20 years, Pony Dining has been known for bold, fire-driven cooking, premium Australian produce, and vibrant dining energy.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver full table service from greeting through to farewell across an assigned section
• Demonstrate strong and current knowledge of menu items, specials, allergens, and wine pairings
• Maintain table cleanliness, crumb management, and presentation standards throughout service
• Accurately enter orders into Lightspeed POS and manage table-side transactions
• Communicate proactively with runners, kitchen, and supervisors
• Support pre-service setup and post-service breakdown tasks
• Contribute to briefings and ongoing product training
• Uphold RSA obligations at all times

About you

• Minimum 1-2 years in a waiter role within a premium or high-volume venue
• Current NSW RSA certificate
• Strong verbal communication and guest rapport skills
• Experience in a premium or high-volume dining environment
• Strong food and beverage knowledge
• Professional, polished, and service-driven mindset
• Confidence managing a busy section with genuine warmth and attention to detail
