Storeperson/Truck Driver

Surdex Steel is a dynamic leader in the steel industry, offering a comprehensive steel distribution service throughout Victoria.

An excellent opportunity currently exists for an experienced Store Person/Truck Driver to join the team located at our Warrnambool branch. 

This will be a full-time position working Monday to Friday on Day Shift. The position will be delivering products daily to customers across the South West region and locally in Warrnambool.

The successful applicant will have knowledge of the Chain of Responsibility requirements as well as working within fatigue management guidelines.  This position requires the applicant to perform driving duties whilst adhering to all OH&S, legislative, obligations. The position will also include daily warehousing duties, unloading and loading trucks and picking orders.

The right candidate will have great communication skills and a friendly nature.

To succeed in this role, applicants must have –

• A current Heavy Combination or Heavy Rigid License required 

• Previous experience in a warehousing environment

• Overhead crane experience is essential

• Previous hauling experience, preferably within a steel environment

• Ability to work flexible hours

• Clear understanding of road transport legislation

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

• Excellent customer service skills and customer focused

• A ‘can do’ attitude and honest work ethic
