We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Shift Supervisor to join the team. The position will require self-motivation, drive and multi-skilling. The successful applicant will be a proactive, hands-on individual who is self-motivated, determined, and can prioritise tasks, with a strong ability to foster a positive culture of inspiration, innovation and collaboration across the team.

This role is even time (14:14) roster and is FIFO from Perth.

About the Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, and being a critical member of the mining leadership team, the Underground Supervisor is accountable for the supervision, leadership and direction of the underground mining team. They will ensure quality work practices and production targets are achieved safely and actively encouraging a positive culture.

• Underground shift supervisor experience is required

• Perform daily supervision of all UG mine site areas and employees

• Regularly check the workplace for safe and healthy work practices and actively promote mine safety.

• Coordinate the daily activities of underground miners in accordance with relevant production schedules.

• Meet targets, minimise costs and identify, review and implement process improvements.

• Assign tasks according to individuals' abilities and agree what is to be accomplished. Give clear instructions, actively listen, provide constructive feedback, and hold regular meetings.

• Ensure all operational personnel are properly trained, rotated and supervised.

• Manage and maintain the reporting of workplace hazards and incidents to ensure effective risk mitigation, collect evidence and participate in incident investigations.

• Undertake reviews of standard operating procedures to ensure application effectiveness and compliance.

• Make sure workplace/area inspections and task observations are completed in a timely manner.

• Requirement to do some 'hands on' work in underground areas.

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.

You will have:

• WA Underground Statutory Shift Supervisor's Certificate

• Extensive knowledge of practices and techniques applied in metalliferous underground mining, and Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.

• Sound leadership skills, including the ability to coach, train, and influence the behaviour of others through constructive feedback and positive reinforcement.

• Methodical approach to completing tasks, detailed and organised, able to work autonomously.

• Capacity to think laterally and work through obstacles with sound communication, both verbal and written.

• Strong computer skills with intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications.

• Experience in managing production and development crews (i.e. stope drilling, charging) an advantage.

• Exposure to fast paced development and production teams.

• Excellent communication skills, able to build and maintain successful working relationships.

• Ability to identify continuous improvement initiatives.

• Respect and understanding of confidentiality.
