Senior Draftsperson

About the role

As a Senior Draftsperson, you will oversee the development and preparation of drawings and plans for construction and fabrication of Redink Homes residential builds. This includes the work of the overseas drawing team and the Redink Homes Drafting Team.

You will provide specialist advice and support to other team members, including undertaking reviews of design work. This position is pivotal for quality assurance, team development, and enhancing the processes and systems in place to maintain the integrity of all CAD information in line with relevant Australian building standards and codes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the work of both the overseas and local team, providing specialist technical advice and support to team members including undertaking reviews of design work

• Utilising and developing the quality assurance processes and systems in place to maintain all CAD information in line with relevant Australian building standards and codes

• Report back to the Drafting Manager on weekly drafting KPI's

• Attend to onsite queries, proposing solutions or escalating any potential queries as needed

• Prepare drawings and plans for construction and fabrication of new homes using CAD technology and applications

• Manage the standardisation of the CAD component library and update drawings relevant to building and construction designs

About you

• Certificate IV in Residential Drafting or equivalent is essential

• 2 or more years' experience in residential building and construction design, drawing and drafting

• Strong knowledge of industry design standards

• Excellent PC skills and experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology and applications

• Experience with a range of information systems (MS Office desirable)
