Fibre Splicer

Gold Coast | Full-Time | Immediate Start

We are looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Splicer to join our growing telecommunications team on the Gold Coast.

If you’re a reliable, hands-on technician who takes pride in producing high-quality fibre work, we want to hear from you.

You’ll be responsible for fibre optic installation, splicing, testing and fault finding across a range of telecommunications projects throughout the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.

Your duties will include:

• Fibre optic splicing and jointing

• Fibre testing using OTDR and power meter

• Fibre fault finding and rectification

• Working in pits, conduits, cabinets and telecommunications infrastructure

• Reading fibre plans and network diagrams

• Completing job documentation and test results

• Working safely and maintaining a high standard of workmanship

• Liaising with supervisors, clients and other field crews

Essential:

• Previous experience as a Fibre Splicer / Fibre Technician

• Strong knowledge of fibre optic networks

• Experience with fusion splicing

• Competent with OTDR and fibre testing equipment

• Current driver's licence

• Strong attention to detail

• Reliable and punctual

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication skills

Highly regarded:

• Experience with FTTP, FTTN, HFC or carrier networks

• NBN experience

• Relevant telecommunications qualifications

• Traffic control / working-at-heights tickets

• Experience with FJL,BJL, multiports, and fibre distribution equipment

• Competitive hourly rate – based on experience
