As a Nursery Order Fulfilment Team Member (Puller), you will play a key role in our dispatch team by preparing customer orders for delivery with accuracy and efficiency. You will locate, collect, and assemble plants from across the nursery, ensuring every order is complete, organised, and ready for dispatch. Once each order is prepared, you will also assist with loading delivery vehicles before they leave the nursery.
This is a hands-on, physically active role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in accuracy, and thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare assigned customer delivery runs according to the daily dispatch schedule.
Locate and collect plants from the nursery and designated assembly bays.
Ensure all plants and products are picked accurately and match customer orders.
Consolidate and organise completed orders in the designated staging area, ready for dispatch.
Identify and report any missing, damaged, or unavailable stock to the appropriate team member.
Load completed delivery runs into company vehicles, ensuring they are secure and ready for transport.
Maintain clear communication with the dispatch team and management regarding the progress of assigned delivery runs.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area at all times.
Follow company procedures relating to plant handling, quality standards, and workplace health and safety.
Assist with other nursery, dispatch, and general operational duties as reasonably required.
Strong plant identification skills, with the ability to accurately identify a wide range of nursery plants.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when selecting plants against customer orders.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and help wherever needed.
At least two years' experience in a nursery or horticultural environment, or a Certificate III or IV in Horticulture (or equivalent).
Good practical plant identification skills and knowledge of common nursery plant varieties.
Ability to distinguish between similar plant varieties and select the correct plant according to customer orders.
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physically fit and capable of performing manual work.
A genuine passion for plants and working outdoors.
This is a physically demanding role and requires you to:
Frequently handle and move plants and nursery stock.
Safely lift and carry items of varying sizes and weights.
Walk and stand for extended periods throughout the day.
Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Bend, squat, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Load delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
