Cook – Supported Residential Service

About Us:

Waverley Hill SRS is a dedicated Supported Residential Service providing high-quality, personalised care and accommodation to our residents. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, family-like environment where our residents feel safe, respected, and well-nourished.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate Cook to join our team and lead our kitchen in delivering fresh, nutritious, and home-style meals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation: Plan, prepare, and cook high-quality, nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) for residents according to scheduled menus.

• Dietary Requirements: Modify meals to cater to specific dietary, medical, texture, and cultural needs of residents (e.g., diabetic-friendly, low sodium, minced/moist).

• Food Safety & Hygiene: Strictly adhere to the facility's Food Safety Program, maintaining impeccable cleanliness, sanitization, and food handling practices.

• Stock Management: Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock rotation, and assist with ordering fresh ingredients within budget guidelines.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs, including temperature checks (fridge, freezer, and cooling/heating logs) and waste management records.

About You (Skills & Experience):

• Experience: Proven experience working as a cook, preferably within an SRS, aged care, commercial kitchen, or community care environment.

• Qualifications: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) is highly regarded. A current Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or Food Handlers certificate) is essential.

• Skills: Strong time-management skills with the ability to work independently and serve meals on time.

• Attributes: A compassionate, patient, and respectful approach when interacting with residents and staff.

Mandatory Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must possess or be willing to obtain:

• A valid National Police Check (issued within the last 6 months).

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check .

• Full Australian working rights.

• Evidence of up-to-date vaccinations (as required by current aged care/SRS sector guidelines).
