Era Polymers is an Australian owned and operated company that is growing. We have modern manufacturing facilities located in strategic locations in Australia and globally where we produce all forms of raw polyurethane elastomers and foams.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Chemist, the Laboratory Technician is responsible for product sampling, testing, and monitoring to meet specifications, as well as participating in quality activities.
The role works very closely with the R&D team to ensure that raw materials and our finished product meet relevant quality standards, as well as helping resolve any issues as each batch of polyurethane is being manufactured.
Duties:
Assist in Quality Control testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
Assisting with the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS).
QC equipment calibration, repair, and management.
Assistance in QMS document preparation and updating.
Sample preparation and dispatch for external QC verification.
Comply with requirements regarding handling of hazardous substances.
Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained and operating effectively.
Maintain compliance with laboratory operating procedures, quality systems, safety requirements and environmental standards.
General lab admin duties such as labelling and packing of tested products, keeping the lab clean and well maintained.
Ideally, you will have:
Relevant VET qualification (ie. Certificate IV or Diploma level) and/or significant work experience in a laboratory environment (eg. an experienced plant operator with lab experience).
Physically capable of undertaking field sampling.
Proficient computer skills.
Hours:
Monday to Friday
8:30am to 5:00pm
