Graduate Estimator / Project Administrator

About the role

DNT Co. is seeking a Graduate Estimator / Project Administrator to join our growing team in Roselands, NSW. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to develop expertise in construction estimating and project administration. You will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers, gaining practical knowledge of cost estimation, project delivery, and construction processes. This role is integral to ensuring accurate project costing and efficient project management, directly contributing to the success of our construction projects.

What you'll be doing

1. Assisting with the preparation of project estimates, including material take-offs, labour costs, and overhead calculations

2. Supporting the development of tender documents and bid proposals under the guidance of senior estimators

3. Conducting research on material pricing, supplier quotations, and market conditions to inform cost estimates

4. Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing information and clarification on project specifications

5. Maintaining and updating project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and cost records

6. Assisting with project administration tasks, such as scheduling, correspondence, and site reports

7. Preparing cost reports and presenting findings to project teams and management

8. Learning and applying construction industry software and estimating tools

9. Supporting post-project analysis and lessons learned reviews

What we're looking for

1. A recent graduate with a qualification in construction, quantity surveying, building or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

2. Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with an eagerness to learn estimating software

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams

5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

6. A genuine interest in the construction industry and commitment to professional development

7. Relevant experience on construction sites or in estimating departments is advantageous but not essential

8. Membership or willingness to pursue membership of professional bodies such as AIQS (Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors) is desirable
