Senior Security Platform Engineer - DevSecOps

We are seeking a Senior Security Platform Engineer – DevSecOps to lead application security engineering and DevSecOps uplift across Optus. You’ll work closely with development, platform, architecture and security teams to embed secure-by-default practices across the software development lifecycle, automate security controls and improve the way teams deliver secure software.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead and enhance DevSecOps and secure software development lifecycle practices.
• Embed security testing into development workflows.
• Automate security, compliance, and software supply chain controls using policy-as-code.
• Provide security expertise through code reviews, architecture reviews, and developer support.
• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with automated controls, quality gates, and assurance.
• Drive security automation, platform management, governance, and continuous improvement across cloud and application environments.

WHAT MAKES YOU PERFECT FOR THE ROLE?

• Relevant qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years' experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Strong scripting and automation expertise using Python, Bash, PowerShell, APIs, and GitOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with application security, vulnerability management, and shift-left security.
• Proficiency in CI/CD governance, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Policy-as-Code, repository management, and security compliance automation.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a focus on automation, continuous improvement, and developer enablement.
