Build Your Legal Career Through Real Experience
Integro Lawyers is a growing boutique law firm based in Melbourne CBD. We are seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Graduate Lawyer who is ready to develop into a capable, trusted and well-rounded legal practitioner.
The successful candidate will be actively involved in the day-to-day conduct of legal matters, working closely with the Principal Solicitor and other members of the team across a broad range of practice areas.
The position is suitable for a recent law graduate who wants meaningful exposure, direct supervision and a genuine pathway for professional growth.
The Role
As a Graduate Lawyer, you will take responsibility for supporting the effective conduct and progression of client matters under appropriate supervision. You will be expected to develop a strong understanding of each matter, identify the legal and commercial issues involved, and contribute meaningfully to achieving the client’s objectives.
taking ownership of allocated matters and ensuring that work is progressed accurately, efficiently and within required timeframes; developing a clear understanding of clients’ circumstances, objectives and commercial priorities; identifying relevant legal, factual and procedural issues and bringing them promptly to the attention of the supervising solicitor; preparing high-quality legal correspondence, advice, court documents, agreements and other legal materials; ensuring that court, tribunal, contractual and statutory deadlines are properly identified, monitored and complied with; maintaining clear, accurate and complete files, records, chronologies and supporting documents; communicating professionally and responsively with clients, counsel, courts, tribunals, government authorities and other stakeholders; assisting clients to understand legal processes, practical risks and the next steps in their matters; contributing to the preparation, strategy and day-to-day management of litigation, transactional and advisory matters; exercising sound judgment as to when a matter should be escalated or further instructions should be obtained; supporting the delivery of work that meets the firm’s standards for accuracy, professionalism, commercial awareness and client service; and progressively assuming greater responsibility for matters as your capability, judgment and confidence develop. The successful candidate will not be expected merely to complete assigned tasks. They will be expected to take responsibility for the quality, timeliness and progression of their work, while seeking guidance whenever appropriate.
About You
You will be a recent law graduate who:
has completed, or is close to completing, a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor; has completed Practical Legal Training or is eligible to commence or complete it; is admitted, or eligible for admission, as an Australian legal practitioner; demonstrates strong legal research, analysis and drafting skills; communicates clearly and professionally; has strong attention to detail and takes ownership of assigned work; is organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines; is comfortable working in a fast-paced professional environment; demonstrates sound judgment, integrity and commercial awareness; and is motivated to learn, improve and build a long-term career in legal practice.
Previous legal experience is not essential. We place greater value on intellectual curiosity, reliability, initiative and a genuine commitment to becoming an excellent lawyer.
Proficiency in languages other than English would be advantageous but is not essential.
What We Offer
At Integro Lawyers, you will receive:
practical exposure to real legal matters from the commencement of your employment; direct mentoring and supervision from experienced practitioners; opportunities to develop your drafting, advocacy, client-management and commercial skills; exposure to a diverse client base and a broad range of legal work; increasing responsibility based on demonstrated capability; a professional, collaborative and growth-focused working environment; and genuine career progression within a growing legal practice.
We are looking for someone who does not merely want a graduate position, but wants to build the judgment, discipline and commercial capability required to become a successful lawyer.
