About the role

This is an exciting role providing support to the financial controller and partnering closely with the business units to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the organization's financial records, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting principles, standards, and reporting requirements. The Senior Financial Accountant is expected to perform monthly financial consolidation and reporting and acts as a custodian of the company's financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and offering valuable perspectives based on financial data.

• Build strong relationships with the divisional Finance Business Partners, Commercial Finance Managers, and Shared Services Centre teams to understand financial drivers and support financial control objectives.
• Provide financial guidance and support to inform business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business strategies.
• Identify areas of risk and process improvements.
• Provide financial training and support to non-finance staff.
• Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required.
• Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to all internal accounting policies, in particular the Holcim Accounting & Reporting Principles (HARP) and procedures.
• Preparation and submission of all monthly group management reports.
• Adherence to strict month-end timetables and deadlines is crucial for the timely delivery of financial information.
• During the month end, assist Financial Controller and Head of Corporate Finance understand key drivers for business performance, challenging the business by raising queries and/or analysis regarding month end results.
• For external auditing, provide requested documentation and information on time and accurately, facilitating effective communication between parties.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Chartered Accountant (GAA affiliate member e.g. CA ANZ), CPA considered with similar role or industry experience.
• Proven experience in financial accounting, specifically in consolidation and statutory reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with or for a Big Four or tier 1 accounting organisation is highly desirable.
• Exposure to the construction, mining or manufacturing related industry sectors is a nice to have.

Additionally, you must hold full Australian work rights with no restrictions on hours worked or duration of employment. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept Holiday or Student visas.
