About The BUSY School…
The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting over 50 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services.
The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland, New Zealand and Canada, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
Our program has now expanded to include The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to our program for all students across Queensland.
Our teams’ focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student’s graduation from Year 12.
The BUSY School Online, based at our Strathpine Campus is seeking qualified teachers for our relief teaching pool!
What does a day of relief teaching look like at The BUSY School Online (TBSO)?
Your role will be to deliver pre-prepared online learning materials through the Canvas learning management system.
Classes have a maximum of 20 students, and each class is supported by a Student Support Officer (SSO) who can assist students as well as the Relief Teacher.
We offer 3 subjects; Essential Maths, Essential English and Social and Community Studies.
Three lessons are taught in the day with classes starting at 9am and finishing at 2:45pm, with two 30-minute breaks and there are no Playground or lunch duties
