Applications Engineer 12-Month Maternity Leave Contract (Potential to Extend)

Position Purpose

BAC Australia is seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract, with the potential for extension.

Working closely with our Sales and Engineering teams, you will provide technical support, product selection expertise and application solutions that help customers achieve the best outcomes from BAC's industry-leading cooling tower and heat rejection technologies.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your engineering, customer engagement and commercial skills while contributing to projects across a diverse range of industries.

What You Will Bring to the BAC Team

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A degree, diploma or trade qualification in Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in technical products and solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to build effective working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and exposure to ERP, CRM, AutoCAD, Revit or similar software.
• A customer-focused mindset and a desire to deliver practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare product selections and technical recommendations.
• Support quotations, proposals and project submissions.
• Provide technical and application support to customers and internal teams.
• Assist with new business opportunities and customer enquiries.
• Develop technical documentation, presentations and sales tools.
• Support product launches, technical training and industry events.
• Analyse product, customer and market data to support decision-making.
• Work collaboratively across Sales, Engineering and Production teams.

Highly Regarded

• 1-2 years' experience in an engineering, technical sales or related role.
• Experience working directly with customers.
• Exposure to HVAC, mechanical services, industrial equipment or similar industries.
• Experience preparing quotations, proposals or technical documentation.
• Familiarity with technical sales support and product application activities.
