CAD/Sigmanest Programmer

ABOUT THE POSITION
Precision Oxycut is seeking a motivated CAD / Sigmanest Programmer to join our steel profiling operation.

This role sits between estimating, engineering and production, ensuring parts and programs are accurate, optimised and ready for manufacture. You'll work with CAD drawings, nesting software and production systems to help deliver high-quality outcomes across plasma, laser and oxy cutting operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD-focused person who enjoys problem solving, has strong attention to detail, and wants to develop a career within manufacturing and engineering.

What you'll be doing

·       Creating and preparing parts from DXF, PDF and NC files

·       Reviewing drawings and job requirements before release to production

·       Checking material grades, thicknesses, quantities and specifications

·       Identifying drawing or scope issues before they impact manufacturing

·       Preparing and optimising nests using Sigmanest

·       Supporting programming and production planning activities

·       Working closely with estimating, operations and workshop teams

What we're looking for

·       CAD experience and the ability to interpret engineering drawings

·       Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

·       Experience with Sigmanest or similar nesting software is highly regarded

·       Mechanical engineering, drafting or manufacturing background advantageous

·       Positive attitude and willingness to learn

The company stocks a large range, in different steel plate grades between 3mm-300mm, and operates the largest dedicated steel plate profiling and processing facilities in NSW. Between our Sydney and Carrington plants, Precision Oxycut has the joint capacity to cut over 40,000 tonnes of steel plate per year.
