We are looking for an Applications Engineer to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract, and with our continued growth there's the potential for extension. About the Role
As our Applications Engineer, you'll work closely with our Sales and Engineering teams to provide technical solutions that help customers select the right products for their needs.
You'll play a key role in preparing quotations, reviewing project requirements, supporting customers and sales representatives, and delivering technically sound and commercially practical solutions.
This is a varied and hands-on role that combines engineering, customer engagement, problem-solving and commercial awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare product selections and technical recommendations to meet customer requirements
Develop quotations, proposals and tender submissions
Provide technical support and application advice to customers and internal stakeholders
Assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities
Prepare technical documentation, presentations and sales tools
Support product launches, technical training and industry events
Analyse market, product and customer data to support business decisions
Assist with pricing models and commercial evaluations
Respond to customer enquiries and provide timely project support
Work collaboratively with Sales, Engineering and Production teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes
About You
We're looking for someone who is curious, motivated and enjoys working with both technical and commercial aspects of a business.
You will ideally have:
A degree, diploma or trade qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in technical products and systems
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
High attention to detail and organisational skills
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using ERP, CRM (SAP), AutoCAD, Revit or similar software.
Desirable
Experience in an engineering, technical sales support or applications role
Exposure to HVAC, mechanical services, manufacturing or industrial equipment
Experience preparing quotations, proposals or technical documentation
Experience working directly with customers or supporting a sales team
